    The Constellation Technology Team provides a group-wide set of Technology Products and Services across the Constellation Automotive Group.

     

    The Role

    This internship offers a unique opportunity to launch a career in digital transformation, enterprise technology, and product management within an international organization.

    As a Graduate Business Central Product Owner Trainee, you will embark on a structured development programme designed to prepare you for a future Product Owner role within the Enterprise Applications team. You will gain practical experience working on real business challenges, collaborating with stakeholders across Europe, and supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, one of the world's leading ERP platforms.

    Unlike traditional internships focused on observation, this programme provides meaningful responsibilities from day one, enabling you to contribute directly to projects that support business operations across multiple European countries.

    The role includes exposure to business analysis, software testing, project delivery, process improvement, and product ownership, providing a strong foundation for a career in technology, consulting, product management, or digital transformation.

     

    Learning Objectives

    Throughout the internship, the graduate will:

    • Develop a strong understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
    • Learn how technology supports critical business functions
    • Gain practical experience in software testing, business analysis, and requirements validation
    • Understand how large-scale business transformation programmes are managed and delivered
    • Build stakeholder management and communication skills through direct interaction with business users and technical teams
    • Learn Product Owner principles, including backlog prioritisation, roadmap planning, feature definition, and value delivery
    • Develop analytical and problem-solving capabilities through real-world business challenges
    • Acquire the skills required to progress into a future Product Owner or Business Analyst role within the organisation
     
    Internship Activities and Responsibilities
     The graduate will follow a structured development pathway consisting of three key phases.
     
     Phase 1: Systems Testing and Business Process Learning
     During the initial stage, the intern will:
    • Learn the fundamentals of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
    • Participate in software testing activities for new system enhancements and releases
    • Execute end-to-end testing scenarios across multiple business functions
    • Validate requirements and system functionality against business expectations
    • Identify defects, risks, and opportunities for improvement
    • Gain hands-on exposure to key business processes and operational workflows

    Phase 2: Project Delivery and Business Analysis

    As knowledge and confidence grow, the intern will:

    • Support implementation and continuous improvement initiatives within the Business Central platform
    • Participate in workshops with business stakeholders from different European markets
    • Gather, analyse, and document business requirements
    • Create process maps, user documentation, and training materials
    • Support product teams throughout project delivery activities
    • Assist with change management and user adoption activities
    • Contribute to initiatives that improve operational consistency across the organisation

    Phase 3: Product Ownership Development

    In the final stage of the programme, the intern will begin developing Product Owner capabilities by:

    • Supporting backlog management and prioritisation activities
    • Writing user stories and acceptance criteria
    • Participating in discovery workshops and solution design sessions
    • Collaborating with developers, testers, and business stakeholders
    • Supporting release planning and deployment activities
    •  Taking ownership of small features, enhancements, or business process improvements under supervision
     

    Expected Outcomes and Deliverables

    By the end of the internship, the graduate is expected to:

    • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Business Central and enterprise business processes
    • Successfully contribute to testing and implementation activities
    • Produce high-quality business requirements and process documentation
    • Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and business analysis artefacts
    • Deliver recommendations for process improvements and operational efficiencies
    • Present findings and project outcomes to key stakeholders
    • Build a professional portfolio of project deliverables and achievements
    • Demonstrate readiness to progress into a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar business technology role
